I would strongly advocate that all strategy responsible business leaders read and evaluate this month’s strategy+business article; An Essential Step for Corporate Strategy: Though often missing, a formal operations strategy can guide the crucial decisions that build competitive advantage. by Tim Laseter

IMHO, I believe Mr. Laseter, gets nearly everything right in his argument for operations as a key enabler to all forward strategy thinking and a fundamental strategic concern in its own right.  In fact, the vision and value proposition that our new firm; New North Systems will make on behalf of our clients, is centered directly in the precise framework as described here - a framework we have come to describe as; “organizational-operations execution,”  or even as our company’s motto: “execution that succeeds!”

Please feel free to contact me directly about this position and as New North Systems begins is operations, I and the New North team look forward to proving Mr. Laseter’s thesis regarding the importance of operations as a sub-strategy, to be spot-on correct.
